At first glance, what we have before us is a mystical detective story about mysterious murders in a Polish village — a kind of forest noir. But if we look more closely, we discover a rich artistic bouquet, filled with piercing poetry, biting satire, and subtle psychological observations.
At the center of the story is the eccentric Janina Duszejko, who single-handedly stands up against the injustice and cruelty of our world — an extraordinary heroine seemingly created especially for Lia Akhedzhakova.

With wit and courage, Lia Medzhidovna brings to the stage the story of a retired schoolteacher who tries to unravel a series of murders while also helping her friends, who are just as eccentric as she is.
Actress and singer Musya Totibadze plays the role of Mrs. Duszejko’s “alter ego” in this production, performing songs based on poems by William Blake. According to the plot, the main character adores this poet, and the novel and the stage production take their title from a line of his work. Actor Alexander Feklistov also appears in the production.
